A candle fire on the first floor of a two-storey house, had caused smoke logging to a bedroom. The fire was out when they arrived. The firefighters used a thermal imaging camera.

A lit candle had fallen down the back of a sofa, within the ground floor living room of a two-storey house.
Smoke was issuing from the building when the firefighters arrived. Four people had left the building and relocated to the safety of a neighbour’s home
The firefighters used:
- Two sets of breathing apparatus
- One hose reel
- A positive pressure ventilation fan
- A short extension ladder
- A thermal imaging camera
The ground floor was 50 per cent damaged by fire and the entire house was smoke logged.
The firefighters returned to the property later in the evening to carry out a reinspection and installed new smoke detectors.

One woman was out of the house, suffering the effects of breathing in smoke, when they arrived.

The Firefighters provided first aid to two girls for the effects of minor burns, before passing them into the care of South Central Ambulance service.
A fire and wellness check was undertaken and an additional smoke alarm installed.
