Two crews from West Ashland and one crew from Broughton attended an incident involving two 40‑foot barges adrift on the Grand Union Canal.
Firefighters used reach poles and lines to secure both barges to the canal bank, preventing further movement and reducing the risk to the public and nearby property.
Once the barges were made safe, the incident was handed over to the barge owners.
