One crew from West Ashland attended an incident involving reports of a battery exploding, which produced white smoke inside the property.
Firefighters made the scene safe and placed the affected portable charger in a bucket of water to reduce the risk of further reaction.
Advice was provided to the occupant, who was instructed to keep the battery submerged for 24 hours before contacting the council for disposal.
Crews carried out a Home Fire Safety Check.
