Four crews attended (Broughton, Newport Pagnell, West Ashland, Banbury), along with two officers.

Firefighters were called to, and extinguished, a canal barge fire. Firefighters used:

  • Two main jets
  • Lightweight Portable Pump
  • One set of breathing apparatus
  • Half-face respirators
  • A thermal imaging camera
  • A positive pressure ventilation fan
  • Electrical gloves
  • Cutting equipment

One male was off the barge before the arrival of firefighters and was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service. The Canal & River Trust also attended.

Firefighters reinspected the barge and confirmed all temperatures appeared cool.
