Two appliances and crews from Hertfordshire and one from Amersham attended, along with an officer.
One car was well alight on the hard shoulder when they arrived, with the fire spreading to affect trees and the motorway embankment.
The firefighters used:
- Two sets of breathing apparatus
- Two hose reel jets
- Small tools
- A thermal imaging camera
The car was destroyed by the fire.
