Two crews from West Ashland, one crew from Broughton, one crew from Buckingham and one crew from Aylesbury, along with a turntable ladder from West Ashland and a water carrier from Broughton, attended a chimney fire.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets, chimney firefighting equipment, a turntable ladder and a thermal imaging camera to tackle a fire within a chimney stack at the thatched-roof property. The fire had not spread to the thatch.
Crews worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent it extending into the roof space. Regular temperature monitoring was carried out throughout the incident to ensure there was no hidden fire spread.
A reinspection was completed later that evening, with further thermal imaging checks confirming that all areas had cooled and there were no signs of re-ignition.
