Extraction unit fire in a restaurant.

Past

Six appliances and crew, from West Ashland, Broughton and Newport Pagnell, supported by three officers and two appliances and crew from Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service, attended a fire in a restaurant kitchen.  The fire started in an extraction unit and spread to the first floor. There were no casualties. To extinguish the fire and make the area safe Firefighters used

  • four breathing apparatus
  • two hose reel jets
  • turn table ladder
  • thermal imagery camera

Crews also isolated the gas supply and a full cordon was put in place. Thames Valley Police were also in attendance. Crews returned to the property several times for reinspection, using thermal imagery camera to check for hotspots.
