Two appliances and crews from Aylesbury, two from High Wycombe, the aerial appliance from West Ashland and a water tanker from Gerrards Cross attended, along with two officers.
A grain store was well alight when they arrived.
The firefighters used:
- Four sets of breathing apparatus
- Two hose reels
- Small gear
- A turntable ladder used as a water tower
- An on-site telehandler
The grain hopper and its contents were 100 per cent damaged by fire and smoke. The roof of a steel barn was severely damaged and around 60 tonnes of barley was affected by smoke.
Crews returned to the site throughout the day and into the following morning, to monitor temperatures, identify hotspots and provide advice.
