Four crews (Bicester, Buckingham, West Ashland, and Aylesbury) supported by a Water Carrier Unit from Wheatley, responded to a fire involving multiple hay bale stacks. The incident involved four separate stacks—two containing approximately 24 bales each, and two with a single bale. The fire had also spread to a nearby hedgerow and tree.
Firefighters used:
- On-site agricultural machinery
- Portable dam
- Water Carrier Unit (Wheatley)
- Wildfire Unit (West Ashland)
- Two hose reel jets
- Haydrags
- Thermal imaging camera
Thames Valley Police were notified and attended the scene.
Crews remained on site for an extended period to damp down hotspots and turn over debris.
Re-inspections were conducted throughout the evening.
