One appliance and crew from Broughton, one from Newport Pagnell, one from West Ashland and one from Aylesbury attended, along with an officer and the large animal rescue unit from Aylesbury.
A large horse had become stuck on its side in a drainage ditch containing water.
A vet attended and the horse was sedated.
The firefighters used animal rescue skills and equipment, along with farming machinery, to release the horse from the ditch.
The horse was passed into the care of its owner and the vet.
