Two crews from West Ashland and one crew from Broughton attended a fire in the kitchen of a second‑floor flat.
The fire was out on arrival. Firefighters used one set of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan to cool hotspots and clear smoke from the property.
One female adult was given initial care by firefighters for the effects of smoke inhalation and was later handed over to the care of the South Central Ambulance Service.
The affected flat was checked and made safe, with neighbouring flats confirmed to be clear of heat and smoke.
