Two appliances and crews from West Ashland, along with an officer attended.
A fire was located within the ground floor kitchen of a three-storey property.
The firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
The ground floor was approximately 50 percent damaged by the fire and smoke.
They also reinspected the property later that evening to check for hot spots.
