One appliance and crew from West Ashland attended, along with an officer.
Thames Valley Police and British Gas also attended.
A cordon was established, and a number of houses were evacuated as a precautionary measure while British Gas worked to isolate the leak.
The incident was left in the hands of the police and British Gas.
