Introducing our new uniform for firefighters & uniformed staff

We’re proud to announce the launch of our new uniform for firefighters and uniformed support staff, a refreshed look that reflects who we are today and the direction we’re moving in as a modern, agile fire and rescue service.

Why We’ve Made This Change

Over the past year, we’ve been working to strengthen our brand identity so it better represents our values, our professionalism, and our commitment to the communities we serve. As part of this work, we’ve updated our uniform to include a new logo feature that immediately highlights to the public who we are.

What’s New

  • Blue cargo trousers for operational crews and uniformed staff
  • Navy shirts for officers, replacing the traditional white shirts
  • The fire service logo now included on shirts, ensuring a consistent and recognisable identity

These changes help ensure that when you see us, you know exactly who we are and what we stand for.

Look Out for Us in the Community

From 1st February 2026 onwards, you’ll start to see our crews and community safety teams wearing the new uniform at community events, school visits, and during Home Fire Safety Visits. We hope the refreshed look makes us even more recognisable and approachable when we’re out supporting local people.

Group Commander Aaron Brinklow, Project Lead, shared;

“The introduction of our new uniform represents a significant step forward for our service. It has been designed to improve comfort, quality, and functionality for our staff, while reflecting the professional identity we want to present to the communities we serve. We have listened carefully to staff feedback throughout this process and are confident that the new uniform meets the needs of not just operational roles but, all our uniformed members of staff within the service”.

A Step Forward for a Modern, Agile Service

Updating our uniform is just one part of our wider commitment to being a forward thinking, adaptable fire and rescue service. As the needs of our communities change, we’re evolving with them; ensuring we remain visible, trusted, and ready to respond.
