Do you work with vulnerable people in their homes?

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Prevention Team have put together a free training session for all people who work with or support people to identify and reduce the risk of fire.

On this training you will:

    • Learn about Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and different ways in which we help protect the lives of the communities we serve.

    • Learn about who is at risk of fire in the home, and why

    • Learn to identify the warning signs of fire risk around the home

    • Understand how to take a person-centred approach to assess the fire risks and how individual behaviour impacts on risk

    • Understand how we can work collaboratively with the resident(s) to reduce the risk in the home

    • Look at how your safeguarding policies can support high risk concerns which have been identified and escalation/changes to fire risk

    • Ask us any questions you have about your role and our role in fire safety

    • Understand a Home Fire Safety Visit and what is involved.  This includes equipment that we install for free, for example, smoke & carbon monoxide alarms and flame retardant throws.

    • The session will cover how to make a detailed referral for a Home Fire Safety Visit
    • The training takes 2 hours to complete and are delivered via Teams.
