One appliance and crew from Broughton, and two from West Ashland attended, along with an officer.

A fire was visibly affecting the first floor of a three-storey house when they arrived.

The firefighters rescued two cats from the house. They used:

  • Four sets of breathing apparatus
  • Two hose reel jets
  • One main jet
  • A thermal imaging camera
  • A positive pressure ventilation fan

The house was around 50 per cent damaged by smoke, around 40 per cent damaged by fire and around 10 per cent damaged by water.

There was also external damage to soft facias, windows and guttering. Light smoke damaged effected a neighbouring house.
