On the 16 June 2021 Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire Authority agreed updates to the 2020-25 Corporate Plan. This followed a review to ascertain progress made during the first year of the plan and, in particular, any adverse impacts arising from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The opportunity was also taken to streamline the programme of projects and tasks and reduce the associated management overhead. This resulted in a reduction in the number of projects and key tasks from 47 to 22. This was achieved by removing items that have been completed or embedded as part of normal operating processes and by consolidating thematically similar and / or interdependent projects and tasks. The outcomes of the review and updated plan can be viewed here.
The updated Corporate Plan sets out how we intend to equip and develop our organisation and its people to meet the challenges that we face over the next four years, in particular the need to:
- develop the Service to address the strategic context and priorities set out in our 2020-25 Public Safety Plan;
- address the ‘Areas for Improvement’ identified by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) in their report on the findings from their first inspection of the Service undertaken in 2019; and,
- anticipate the potential impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Service’s operating environment.
