The King’s Coronation

The selection process was coordinated through the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC), the Home Office made a request to all UK Fire & Rescue Services for 20 representatives to make up part of the 200 Uniformed Civilian Services (UCSs) to be street liners for the King’s Coronation on the 6 May 2023. The NFCC sought nominations that reflected the diverse workforce of the UK Fire & Rescue Services (FRSs). Members of our Senior Management Team (SMT) took forward nominations to be considered and after deliberations, Watch Commander Ania Czerminska was put forward to the NFCC who made the final decision on who would represent UK FRSs, alongside other UCSs.

The representatives selected lined the Whitehall section of the route (both sides) from south of Trafalgar Square along Whitehall to the statue of FM Montgomery at 5 pace intervals.

We asked Ania how attending the special day made her feel; “Immensely proud to be a part of a once in a lifetime opportunity with such professional colleagues from other Services. The atmosphere was amazing with crowds of people cheering us on, thanking us for our Service – it made me feel so much joy.”
