The fire was located on the third floor of a six-story, detached building, which was under refurbishment from commercial to domestic use.

At the height of incident ten appliances and crews, including a command unit and a turntable ladder attended, along with four officers.

The appliances and crews in attendance were from:

  • West Ashland
  • Broughton
  • Newport Pagnell
  • Maidenhead (Command Unit)
  • Leighton Buzzard
  • Buckingham
  • Aylesbury
  • Kempston

The building was evacuated.

The firefighters isolated the electricity supply, used the buildings dry riser, as well as:

  • Six sets of breathing apparatus
  • Two main jets
  • A thermal imaging camera
  • A turntable ladder

Around two per cent of the third floor was damaged by fire and approximately thirty per cent was damaged by smoke.

Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service also attended.

The incident response was scaled back from around 12.45pm (01/02/23). Firefighters remained on the scene into the afternoon damping down and inspecting voids to check for fire spread.

Two appliances and crews from Aylesbury attended.

The small fire was out when they arrived. There was around five per cent fire damage on the third floor of the building.

Thames Valley Police were notified of the incident.

One appliance and crew from West Ashland and one from Broughton attended. The fire was on the ground floor and is believed to have been started deliberately. Firefighters used buckets of water.

Three appliances and crews from Aylesbury attended. Firefighters used three hose reels, one set of breathing apparatus and a water tanker.
