One appliance and crew from Broughton, two from Bedfordshire, one from Aylesbury and one from Newport Pagnell attended, along with two officers.

A fire was located in the bedroom of a ground-floor flat.

Firefighters rescued one woman from the flat. She was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service, and treated for the effect of breathing in smoke.

The firefighters used:

  • Four sets of breathing apparatus
  • Two hose reel jets
  • A positive pressure ventilation fan

The bedroom was 100 per cent damaged by smoke, and around 50 per cent damaged by fire.
