One appliance and crew from Broughton, three from West Ashland, along with an officer attended.
A fire was located within a second-floor bedroom of a three-storey property.
The firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan and isolated the gas and electric supply.
They also carried out a re-inspection later that morning to check for hot spots.
