Bin fire affecting house

Bin fire affecting house

Past

Two appliances and crews from West Ashland and one from Broughton attended, along with an officer.

A bin fire was affecting the front door of a three-storey mid-terrace house. It generated multiple calls to Thames Valley Fire Control Service.

The firefighters used:

  • Two sets of breathing apparatus
  • One hose reel jet
  • A thermal imaging camera
  • One gas monitor

Two adults and five children were found in the back garden and were cared for by South Central Ambulance Service.

The fire had caused light smoke logging throughout the house, and affected a car parked on a neighbouring driveway.

The fire had also affected the gas supply to the house. Neighbouring houses were evacuated, and the firefighters isolated the gas supply to the property. They put a cordon in place and requested the gas provider attend.

Thames Valley Police also attended.
