Fire in commercial property

Fire in commercial property

Past

Three crews attended (one from Broughton, two from West Ashland), along with three officers.

Firefighters were called to a fire in a commercial two-storey property, measuring approximately 10 metres by 10 metres. The fire was in the rear of the ground floor. The fire caused approximately 50% damage by fire and 100% damage by smoke.

Firefighters used:

  • Six sets of breathing apparatus
  • Two main jets
  • Two hose reels
  • Thermal imaging camera
  • Small gear
  • Positive pressure ventilation fan

Firefighters isolated the gas and electricity to the property and completed an analytical risk assessment. Firefighters also assessed nearby properties for smoke spread, which all appeared clear.

Thames Valley Police attended and implemented a full road closure.

A crew from Broughton revisited the scene on two later occasions to carry out reinspections, with no hotspots found. They also carried out a home fire safety check and assisted officers to carry out a fire investigation.
