Four crews attended (three from West Ashland including a turntable ladder, one from Broughton), alongside an officer.
Firefighters were called to, and extinguished, a multi-seated fire on the ground floor of a two-storey large derelict commercial building. The fire, consisting of waste and building materials, was approximately 3 metres by 12 metres by 1-metre-high.
Firefighters used:
- Five sets of breathing apparatus
- One main jet
- A thermal imaging camera
- Scene lighting
- A positive pressure ventilation fan
Firefighters remained on scene while dampening down and turning over the fire.
A crew from West Ashland revisited the incident (at 3am on 9 April) to complete a reinspection and found no hotspots.
