Fire in dishwasher

Past

Two appliances and crews from High Wycombe and one from Amersham attended, along with two officers.

The firefighters used:

  • Four sets of breathing apparatus
  • One hose reel jet
  • One main jet
  • One dry powder extinguisher
  • A positive pressure ventilation fan

A dishwasher in a ground floor utility room is believed to have caught fire and caused heavy smoke logging to around 70 per cent of the building.

The ground floor of the building was around 10 per cent damaged by fire.

The firefighters ventilated the building to clear the smoke, and isolated the electricity supply.

Thames Valley Police helped with a road closure while the firefighters worked at the scene.
