At the height of the fire there were four fire engines, one water carrier, and one officer in attendance.

The crews attending were from:

  • Olney
  • Newport Pagnell
  • Northampton
  • Aylesbury
  • Bedfordshire

The firefighters used:

  • One hose reel jet
  • Two main jets
  • Two sets of breathing apparatus
  • An onsite mechanical vehicle

Two crews and a water carrier remain on site turning over and damping down. Smoke has now dissipated and the advice to keep doors and windows closed is now lifted.

Initial information:

Three fire engines and an officer are currently on the scene of a fire involving four large waste containers.

The fire engines in attendance are from Olney, Newport and Northamptonshire.

They are using one hose reel jet and one main jet.

The incident is generating a large number of calls to Thames Valley Fire Control Service due to the large plume of smoke currently being generated by the fire involving household waste, furniture and scrap metal.

Residents and businesses in the surrounding area are advised to keep doors and windows closed, and there may be an impact on visibility on nearby roads while the firefighter work at the scene.
