Two appliances and crews from West Ashland attended.
Smoke was issuing on arrival, a fire was located on the first floor of a residential building.
The firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
They also carried out a Home Fire Safety Visit.
