Ground floor retail unit fire

Eight crews attended (one from Broughton, Newport Pagnell, Buckingham, Mereway and two from West Ashland, Leighton Buzzard), along with five officers.

Firefighters were called to a fire in a retail unit on the ground floor of a six-storey building. Smoke was issuing on arrival. Fire had damaged the retail unit with smoke logging to adjacent stairwells and flats above. Firefighters isolated the electrics to the premises. Cordons were put in place for scene safety and managed by Thames Valley Police. Firefighters remained on scene to clear light smoke logging in common areas of flats.

Firefighters used:

  • Four sets of breathing apparatus
  • Two hose reel jets
  • Positive pressure ventilation fan
  • Turntable ladder (from West Ashland)
  • Incident Command Unit (from Aylesbury)

South Central Ambulance Service also attended.

A crew from Broughton carried out a reinspection at 04:14 and 08:10 on 11/06/2025.

A fire investigation is being completed at the incident.
