11 appliances and crews, along with 7 officers were in attendance at the height of the fire. The appliances and crews were from:

- West Ashland
- Aylesbury
- Broughton
- Newport Pagnell
- Slade
- Leighton Buzzard
- Kempston
A semi-detached thatched building was well alight on arrival. The fire affected the roof and first floor space of the property.
The firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reels, one main jet, a 10.5 metre ladder, environmental absorbent packs and a turntable ladder appliance.
A road closure was put in place. Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance Service and the Electricity board company also attended.

Crews continued to work on the scene throughout the night and the following day. They dampened down and reinspected the property using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
