Two appliances and crews from West Ashland, and one from Broughton attended.
Smoke was issuing from a two-storey house when they arrived.
The firefighters rescued one woman and one dog from the building. They provided immediate emergency care to the woman and treated her for the effects of breathing in smoke, before passing her into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
They used:
- Two sets of breathing apparatus
- One hose reel jet
- A positive pressure ventilation fan
