One appliance and crew from Broughton and one from West Ashland attended.
A small fire had broken out in the living room of a first-floor flat.
One woman and two dogs were out of the flat, uninjured, before they arrived.
The firefighters provided immediate emergency care to one man, who was out of the flat when they arrived, but suffering from burns to his hands. The man was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
The firefighters used:
- Two sets of breathing apparatus
- One hose reel jet
- A positive pressure ventilation fan
- An immediate emergency care pack
