From time to time we run public consultation on our proposals for the future.
We have consulted on:
Public Safety Plan 2020 to 2025
Our new Public Safety Plan, which sets out our draft strategy for the provision of fire and rescue services from April 2020 to March 2025, ran from Monday 23 September 2019 until 10am on Monday 18 November 2019.
The plan was approved for consultation by our governing body, Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority (BMKFA), at its meeting on 18 September 2019. The consultation was open to anyone over the age of 16.
This process ran from 23 September to 18 November 2019, and included focus groups with members of the public, meetings with union representatives and an online questionnaire open to all. Hundreds of partner and community organisations were also invited to participate.
A report of the consultation findings, alongside the full Service management responses to feedback received during the consultation were presented to BMKFA during its meeting on Wednesday 12 February 2020, where members approved the plan. A copy of the report is available to download below.

The consultation ran from 10am on Monday 14 September 2015 to 10am on Monday 9 November 2015.
Consultation feedback is accessible, along with the paper presented to Authority members for decision on the proposal.

An online questionnaire was available throughout the consultation period.

The report containing the outcomes of this consultation and feedback received, was presented at a meeting of BMKFA on Wednesday 10 February 2016 (Agenda item 9). The proposal was approved.
Plans and artist’s impressions of the proposed Blue-Light Hub went on public display at Simpson Village Hall in Hanmer Road, Simpson, MK6 3AD, from 11am to 7.30pm on Friday 8 July.
A ground-breaking ceremony for the Blue-Light Hub took place on Thursday 12 April 2018.
Public Safety Plan 2015 to 2020
In July 2014 BMKFA launched a public consultation on its 2015-20 Public Safety Plan. We welcomed feedback from the people we serve as well as those with a specific interest in our service, such as our own staff and other organisations with whom we work.
The consultation period ran until Monday 13 October 2014.
A summary of all the responses to the consultation was reported to BKMFA and fully considered before any final decisions were taken.
The final Public Safety Plan, alongside the report of the consultation findings, feedback received, proposals, recommendations, and responses to feedback, was presented to BMKFA in December 2014 where it was approved. A copy of the plan is available to download below.
