Two appliances and crews from West Ashland and one from Broughton attended.
An alarm was sounding in the ground floor of a three-storey building when they arrived.
A small fire in a microwave oven on the first floor, was out when they arrived.
The firefighters removed the microwave from the building and used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke. They also provided advice.
